The solving rules for circle sudoku are exactly the same actually as for normal sudoku, it is just the display of the puzzle that makes it appear different. And the display makes it harder for a human, too. That is because we find it much easier to read along straight lines, such as the rows and columns of normal sudoku.
However, the eye finds it harder to check the values in regions that are circular, such as with circle sudoku. This means that the main solving tip is actually to focus carefully when reading around a ring and make sure that the eye does not accidentally move to looking at the values in a different ring: it is easily done and can lead to frustration during the solving process.
The second tip is to be extra-diligent with your pencilmarks, as this will help you solve these puzzles without making too many mistakes and the frustration that can come from that. And keep your pencilmarks up to date, so each time you make a deduction or progress of any kind, be sure to work around the other parts of the region to work through and cross-off as necessary.
