Codeword Puzzle Books for Adults

If you like codeword puzzles, then you've come to the right place! We have a large selection of codeword puzzle books available to buy.

All our codeword books use British English throughout, and follow the standard rules for this puzzle type, which are as follows:

You are presented with a coded crossword grid. Each white square contains a number from 1-26 in it. You must work out which number represents each letter of the alphabet from A-Z. Every letter of the alphabet appears in the grid and each time a number appears it always represents the same letter. This means that if one instance of 5 in the grid represents E, then you can instantly replace every other instance of 5 with E in the grid, too.

The majority of our codewords contain three hint letters to get you started with your solve, and it is recommended that you start your solve by writing these in. However, some of our hard and very hard puzzles contain only one or even no clue letters at all to get you started!
